Terms of service

Last Updated: 25 June 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Morris & Mole. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (www.morrisandmole.co.uk) and the purchase of products from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms are between you ("the customer", "you") and Morris & Mole ("we", "us", "our"). Morris & Mole is a sole trader business based in Chorley, England.

2. About Our Products

All our products are handmade from high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather. As leather is a natural material, please expect minor variations and natural imperfections; these are not considered defects but rather part of the unique character of each piece. Over time, your leather goods will develop marks and scratches through use. This natural ageing process, known as a patina, tells the story of your item and should be expected. To ensure the longevity of your product, please follow our Care Instructions:
- Avoid prolonged contact with water.
- Avoid scratching the surface with sharp objects like keys.
- Apply a suitable leather conditioner periodically to nourish the leather. The appearance of marks can be reduced, but not eliminated, by using conditioner.

3. Ordering & Contract Formation

When you place an order, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your order. A legally binding contract between you and us is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation email.
- Custom & Personalised Orders: All custom or personalised orders require full payment upfront before work can begin.
- Right to Refuse: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, for reasons including but not limited to: suspected fraudulent activity, inability to source materials, or errors in product pricing. If we cancel your order after payment has been taken, a full refund will be issued.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP). As we are not VAT registered, there is no VAT charged on our products. The price you see is the price you pay, plus any applicable shipping fees. We accept payment via all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.

5. Shipping

All shipping is handled in accordance with our separate Shipping Policy. Please review it for details on processing times, costs, and delivery estimates.

6. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

Order Cancellations:

You may cancel a non-personalised order at any time before it has been dispatched by contacting us at morrisandmole@gmail.com. If the order has not yet been shipped, we will issue a full refund. If the order has been shipped, you must follow the standard returns procedure. Personalised and custom orders cannot be cancelled once work has begun.

Standard Orders (Non-Personalised):

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order and obtain a full refund. You must notify us of your intent to cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us in their original, unused condition.
- The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the return postage. We recommend using a tracked service as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
- Once we receive the returned item, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 14 days.

Personalised & Custom Orders:

Items that are personalised, custom-made, or made-to-order are not eligible for a return, exchange, or refund unless the item is faulty.

Faulty or Damaged Goods:

We take great pride in our craftsmanship. In the unlikely event that your item arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us at morrisandmole@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery. Please include your order number and clear photos of the issue so we can resolve it for you promptly.

All content on this website, including but not limited to our product designs, photographs, logo, and text, is the intellectual property of Morris & Mole. This content is protected by copyright law and may not be copied, reproduced, or used in any way without our express prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for any damage or loss resulting from the failure to follow our provided Care Instructions. Our total liability to you for any issue related to an order is limited to the total value of that order. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Governing Law

These Terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
